FLORAL CITY GARDEN CLUB HELD THEIR
ANNUAL PLANT SALE

it was a HUGE success thanks to all our volunteers and loyal patrons
[On Sat, May 12 @ the old Fire Station, we had another plant sale]

Workers gathered days before to set up tables and plants

Many thanks to Mr. Jensen ["Bikini Dave"] who donated many varieties of bromeliads for the sale
Caladiums were available 'en mass
All the favorite varieties of garden plants were available for sale
Wildflowers, as well as other plants, were grown and donated by members


May 12, 2007 Awards Banquet & Meeting

 

The Marie Jones Scholarship was awarded to Citrus County Senior, Scott Woythaler to assist his educational pursuit in Horticultural Engineering by Cathi Ayers, Scholarship Chairman. Scott, his father and his father's co-worker were our special guests at the awards banquet.
An FFGC Life Membership was awarded to Cathi Ayers for her dedication and many years of service to the club. She served as 1st Vice President 1999-2001, President 2001-2003, School Beautification Project Chairman 2003-2005 and coordinated the Freedom Tree Planting, Dedication Ceremony and Parade. She continues to serve as Chairman of Junior Gardeners and Chairman of the Scholarship Committee. In addition she served as FFGC District V Membership Chairman [2003 - 2005].
New members who joined this club year were recognized with special gifts
The 2005-2007 Officers were recognized for their dedication and service to the club
Our sincere appreciation and thanks to our committee chairmen and to all the dedicated members who volunteered their time and talent to give us yet another active and successful club year. Each was recognized with token gifts.
A dozen roses and an FFGC Life Membership was also awarded to out-going president jo Quackenbush. She served as 2nd Vice President 1999-2001, 1st Vice President 2001-2003, President 2003-2005 and a second term 2005 - 2007. She also served as Horticulture Chairman and Wildflowers & Native Plants Chairman 1998 - 2000. She developed the club logo and website. She was lead artist in the School Beautification Mural Painting, and painted a giant Christmas card for the club to display during the holidays, and painted/donated the blue heron on the gateway sign and gardens.
The Petal Power Award was presented by Jo for Bea Rabideau to Anne Propp for her hard work on the plant sale
