Dear FCGC Members:
I hope each of you had a great summer. We've been blessed with rain this year and what a joy to see those flowers flourish (but not the weeds!). Although we don't meet through the summer, work for and by the FCGC is still being carried out. Committee Chairs have been busy making plans for the new Memorial Garden, the Secret Garden Tour, as well as for each months programs. Putting together the Yearbook is a big job that is one of the behind the scenes activities that make my job easier.
This will be my second year as your President and I am so grateful for the Committee chairs help and support this last year. We have grown in membership and I hope the new members will enjoy the camaraderie, the programs, and participating in club projects. I encourage each of you to visit the beautiful gardens that have been created and maintained by club members over the years.
Being a part of this club should be more than going to the monthly meetings. We are more than a social group. We work to improve our community through roadside cleanups, community gardens, educational programs, and fund-raisers that allow us to provide scholarships to worthy graduating high school seniors as well as Camp Wekiva scholarships to Floral City Elementary Junior Gardeners. I am so grateful to all of those past Presidents and members who have done so much for this community and it is my hope that we will continue in this tradition of volunteerism.
Sincerely,
Kathy Davis
President
